Merton Tuition Centre was founded over 20 years ago by a father and daughter team, both with decades of teaching experience. With backgrounds in Chemistry and Genetics, their passion for education and simplifying complex concepts inspired them to pursue long and successful careers as tutors. Their mission has always been to help students not only understand their subjects better but to develop a genuine love for learning.
Over the years, they have helped thousands of students unlock their academic potential and achieve success.
At Merton Tuition Centre, we provide comprehensive support in Numeracy and Literacy for primary school students, from Year 3 to Year 6. Our lessons are aligned with the National Curriculum and focus on helping with homework, reinforcing classroom learning, and preparing for KS2 exams.
We also specialise in preparing students for the 10+ and 11+ entrance exams, offering dedicated tutoring in Maths, English, Verbal Reasoning, and Non-Verbal Reasoning for both Grammar and Independent schools. As part of our 11+ preparation, we have published specialist books with realistic practice papers. These resources, regularly updated to include new question types, have been instrumental in helping hundreds of students pass their exams and are available on Amazon.
Every Easter and Summer, we run intensive courses and mock tests for the 11+ exams, providing students with invaluable experience and contributing to our consistently high success rates.
For secondary school students, we offer tailored support in Maths, English, Chemistry, Biology, and Physics from Year 7 through to Year 11. Our approach is focused on simplifying complex topics, boosting confidence, and reinforcing core concepts from the National Curriculum. For GCSE students, we place a strong emphasis on exam techniques and mock tests to ensure thorough preparation.
Lessons are flexible to fit each family’s needs, available in small group settings, 1:1 sessions, or even online. At the A Level stage, we provide individualised support in Maths, Chemistry, Biology, and Physics. These lessons are primarily offered 1:1 with expert tutors, many of whom offer in-home tuition for added convenience.
